Obituary
The death occurred on Wednesday of Mr. Thomas
William Goldsmith, licensee of the Richmond Tavern, Margaret Street, Folkestone.
He was 63.
Son of the late Mr. T.D. Goldsmith, he was
well-known in
the district as Captain of one of the old sailing colliers; he had held the
licence of the Richmond for 14 years Mr. Goldsmith was an employee of the old
Folkestone Motor Company, and for 12 years was in the service of the East Kent
Road Car Company. He was known to many by his jovial manner and witty answers.
Although he had been unwell for over two years, he
had been up and about until a fortnight ago. He leaves a widow.
The funeral will take place at Hawkinge on Monday
(3.30).

Local News
Mrs. Amy Goldsmith was granted the licence of the
Richmond Tavern, Margaret Street, Folkestone, at Folkestone Transfer Sessions
on Wednesday. The licence was formerly held by her husband, the late Mr. T.D.
Goldsmith.
