Obituary

We regret to record the death of Mrs. Margaret Annie Bridge, of “Coombe Warren”, Capel-le-Ferne, which occurred recently at the age of 87.
Mrs. Bridge was the widow of Mr. Albert William Bridge, who died nearly two years ago.

Mr. Bridge was the licensee of the Martello Hotel, Dover Road, Folkestone, for 23 years, and licensee of the White Horse, Hawkinge, for a similar period. He had also held the licences of the Duke of Edinburgh, Tontine Street, Folkestone, and the New Inn, Elham.

Mrs. Bridge`s father, Mr. John Whittingham Boorn was also connected with the licensed trade for many years, and was at different times landlord of the Royal Oak, on the Folkestone – Dover road, and the now extinct Packet Boat and Channel, in Folkestone.

Mrs. Bridge, who is survived by one son and three daughters, was buried at the Folkestone borough cemetery, Hawkinge, on Thursday last week.
